1. What is a problem/issue that our entire student body (our school, community, country, etc.) faces today?
-The United States is dependent on oil
2. What is your view/position on the problem or situation?
-The United States should reduce it's dependence on oil, and instead invest in alternative energies.
3. What would you like to achieve with your editorial? (What is the desired result?)
-I would like students to control thier use of energy, and be more earth-friendly in their daily lives. I would also like them to be in favor of developing alternative energies in the US.
4. How will you persuade your audience to adopt your viewpoint as theirs? List at least 4 persuasive points.
-European countries have already converted to alternatives as a main source of energy, and it has been very effective
-Many types of alternative energies are more cost-effective than fossil fuels
-Developing alternatives would decrease our dependence on middle eastern nations for our energy
-Alternative energies are much more earth-friendly, and would create a better quality of life for many Americans.
5. How will you motivate your readership to action in your conclusion?
-I will create a picture of what the world or the United States will look like if we don't develop alternative energies, then show a much better picture of the future if we do develop alternative energies.
6. How will your editorial serve a public purpose?
-It will motivate the public to be more active in supporting alternative energies, and living more eco-friendly lives.
